Meet Your Doula – Laura Hansom
Qualified NCT Practitioner | Red Tent Traditional Doula | NCT Licensed Breastfeeding Counsellor
Care and support during your postpartum period are vital for healing and honouring the incredible journey your body and baby have been through. The mother and baby form a dyad—two beings deeply connected. When the baby is born, the mother or parent is also reborn into a new chapter of life.
In my six years supporting families, I’ve seen what I call “the birth of a mother.” Sadly, traditional customs celebrating this transition have become muted. Today, there’s often immense pressure for new mothers to be everything at once—out and about just days after birth. But this isn’t how it should be. Bodies, minds, and our new sense of self need time to develop, recharge, and recover.
Helping parents feel informed, supported, and at the centre of their birth and postnatal experiences is fundamental to the work I do.
I qualified in 2019 with the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) and now provide antenatal education, breastfeeding support, and postnatal guidance across Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire, the Trossachs, and Stirlingshire.
🧡 “My aim is to empower families with knowledge and confidence as they navigate this special time.”
