Doula Rooms
Class Details:
Care and support during your postpartum period are vital for healing and honouring the incredible journey your body and baby have been through. The mother and baby form a dyad — two beings deeply connected. When the baby is born, the mother or parent is also reborn into a new chapter of life.
The Doula Rooms offers an alternative or addition to modern antenatal classes. It’s a space to celebrate the end of pregnancy and welcome new beginnings — mother-in-arms, a baby, a new family, a community, and a sense of belonging. These sessions are focused on nurturing the mother so that she feels at the centre of her experience.
There are currently 3 rooms:
-
Women-only antenatal circle: It explores what it means to transition into motherhood and how to prepare for postnatal recovery.
-
Woman-only postnatal circle: Focuses on nurturing, bonding, self-care and positive recovery. Babies in arms are very welcome.
-
Closing Bones Ceremony: A Closing the Bones ceremony is a sacred postpartum ritual that marks the end of the birthing cycle and honours the new mother’s journey. Acknowledge the physical, emotional, and spiritual transformations she has undergone, supporting her in her recovery and transition into motherhood with reverence and care.
Doula Room sessions can include one or two of the following elements. These elements are not limited to a session and sessions can be personalised:
Guided relaxation, gentle antenatal stretching for birth, grounding and breath-work, mothers traditional sharing circle, Robozo, closing bones ceremony (postnatal), foot and womb massage (womb healing that includes moxibustion), bathing, traditional postpartum foods, and plant-based teas/ drinks. Recipes for these, along with oils and bath soaks, are gifted as part of the session.
This is a nurturing space dedicated to supporting your healing and connection during this special time.
